Jesus is not the almighty.
There is nowhere in the Bible that
Jesus the Christ, whether by name or title is described as the Almighty.
That is because Jesus' power was
not his. It was given to him. He was empowered by God Almighty
Consider the following statement, made by Jesus as he appeared to his disciples after his resurrection:
Matthew 28:18
And Jesus came and spake unto them,
saying,
All power is given unto me in heaven
and in earth.
Jesus himself openly proclaimed
that the supreme power and authority he had was not his by virtue of him being
God.
But that everything that was his, he had received from God:
Luke 10:22
All things are delivered to me of my Father:
and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but
the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
There is no way if Jesus was God,
that he would need anybody to give him anything!
Romans 11:34
For who hath known the mind of the Lord?
or who hath been his counsellor?
35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him
again?
Even in our praises and our offerings we simply return to
God that which is his- as David said:
1 Chronicles 29:13
Now therefore, our God, we thank thee,
and praise thy glorious name.
14
But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so
willingly after this sort?
for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.
Instead, the fact that Jesus
received his power,
makes the giver of the power, God.
And since there is one God, this disqualifies Jesus from that position,
as Paul explains:
1 Corinthians 15:27
For he (God) hath put all things under his (Jesus') feet.
But when he (God) saith all
things are put under him (Jesus),
it is manifest that he (God) is excepted, which
did put all things under him (Jesus).
To paraphrase Paul's point:
If the scripture declares that someone has put everything under Christ's feet,
it's obvious that it does not include the one who put it there!
1 Corinthians 15:28
And when all things shall be
subdued unto him, then shall the Son (Jesus)
also himself be subject unto him (God) that put
all things under him (Jesus),
that God may be all in all.
